Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Service providers
We work with trusted third-party vendors (such as cloud hosting, email delivery, SMS, analytics, and payment partners) who process data on our behalf under agreements that limit use of your data to providing services to us.
Legal requirements
We may disclose information if required by law or in response to a valid legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of TreadPOS, our users, or the public.
Business transfers
If TreadPOS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
With your consent
We may share information with third parties when you have given us explicit permission, for example by connecting an integration you choose in the product.
Data retention
We retain your account and operational data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period (typically within 90 days), except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or regulatory purposes.
Backups and archived copies may persist in secure, isolated storage for a limited period after deletion, after which they are purged according to our retention schedules.
Security
We take the security of your data seriously. The Service uses industry-standard practices including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and ongoing review of our vendors and infrastructure.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve our website and Service. For example:
- Essential cookies that keep you signed in or remember session preferences where applicable
- Analytics cookies that help us understand how visitors use our marketing site — often in aggregated form
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies for unrelated ad networks. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may affect how parts of the Service work.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, additional rights may apply under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. Contact us for more information.
Children
The Service is intended for businesses and adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post an updated policy on this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. For significant changes, we may also notify you by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
